Having a business has some downfalls. One huge downfall is making comparisons. You start comparing yourself and how you are doing compared to others. You can't help yourself! You see their social media posts. You see their blogs. You see their stores. Everything looks great. You just know they have the perfect life and the perfect business. And you start wondering what's wrong with you. The fears come to the surface. Jealousy starts seeping in. You start feeling that your products aren't good enough - that you aren't good enough. You start spending more time with your negative thoughts than spending time working in your business and being you. I've been there. I've spent plenty of time comparing myself with others. I've spent plenty of times entertaining all of the negative thoughts that have crowded my mind. It has been paralyzing at times. I've cried a lot. I've had times where I decided I wasn't good enough to do a project I wanted to do. I......
Summer is here and school is out for most of you by now. You probably have a TPT To Do List a mile long. I know I always did when I was teaching. A couple of things I always found out though were 1) I needed a break from school-related things and 2) Summer break goes by quickly! What can you do to use your time wisely this summer? 1) Take time for yourself and your family! Teachers need to relax and unwind before they gear up for the next school year. 2) Make a schedule! I have an "Ideal Week" schedule that I try to go by. Michael Hyatt has talked a lot about the Ideal Week on his blog. Click here for his posts and podcasts. Basically, take a weekly calendar sheet and block off the things you do every week. I had one of THOSE days the other day. You know the one - nothing is going right, numbers drop, your mind can't think of anything positive, work is not getting done, you're frustrated, etc. I woke up that way and just could not shake it off because I looked at my stats for the day before and they weren't that impressive - revenue was low, lost a follower in one area, and on and on. Let's face it. We ALL have those kinds of days. So what do you do to get yourself out of the "funk"? Change your mindset!
